History of Numa Elementary School   

Numa Elementary was constructed and recieved the first students in 1996. The word, Numa, comes from the Shoshone. The Shoshone are a Native American tribe. Numa means "the people". Keeping with the Native American theme, the mascot for Numa Elementary is the tule duck. The tule duck was used as a decoy by Native Americans. In addition, the school motto is "Face the Winds and Walk the Good Road".
