The students are also able to choose ala cart items and have the money taken out of there meal accounts.

There is an account for each student that they access using his/her student ID number. There for you as the parent would be able to put money on your child's account and track of what they are purchasing and when they are participating in the meal program.

We encourage all parents to prepay for their children's meals. You can pay for a week, a month or for the year. Since we are unable to make change, the dollar amount your child brings in to the cashier will be put on his/her account. Remember, each student is only allowed two charges.

Please look for a letter on yellow paper coming home with your child. This letter will tell you the amount owed on his/her account. If special arrangements need to be made, contact the school cafeteria cashier prior to the situation. If your child's account exceeds two charges and you did not make arrangements, you will receive a call from the cafeteria cashier.

We encourage all parents to visit their child's cafeteria and to communicate with the kitchen staff. The food Service staff is proud to serve the students of Churchill County School District. Together we make the positive difference in their lives. If you have any questions about the District's school meals program, call Dawn Whitten at 428-2700.

*Your children may qualify for free or reduced meals. Reduced price meals are 0.00 for breakfast and 0.00 for lunch. An application for free and reduced priced meals will go home with every student on the first day of school. Every school year a new application has to be filled out if you think you would qualify.   Children in households receiving Food Stamps or TANF, and most foster children, can receive free meals regardless of your income. Also, your child(ren) can receive free price meals if your household income is within set limits of the Federal Income Guidelines.

If you qualified last year your status would only last for the first 30 days of this new school year. It will end on October 6th 2009. Your charges will start on October 7th 2009. Please fill out one application per family, and return the application as soon as possible to one of your child(ren's) teacher.
