Welcome to the Homeschool Information Section

Homeschool law in Nevada has changed significantly with the passage of SB 404 during the 2007 legislative session. On July 1, 2007, the new law became effective. SB 404 can be found at the following website: http://www.leg.state.nv.us/74th/Bills/SB/SB404_EN.pdf

The STATE OF NEVADA NOTICE OF INTENT TO HOMESCHOOL (Pursuant to NRS 392.070) is available on the following website: http://www.doe.nv.gov/Nevada_Homeschooling/

The Notice of Intent to Homeschool form is required for children from ages 7 to 18 only. This is a one-time filing and does not need to be refiled unless the name or address of the parent or child changes, or the child is reentering homeschooling after being enrolled in public school.

An additional form, STATE OF NEVADA NOTICE OF INTENT OF HOMESCHOOLED CHILD TO PARTICIPATE IN PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES, is also available on the above-referenced website http://www.doe.nv.gov/Nevada_Homeschooling/  Please note that the information in this form must be filed annually with Churchill County School District should you request participation in programs of special education, or any classes or activities, sports or interscholastic activities and events, at a public (or charter) school.
